I’m the author of science fiction and fantasy novels for children and young adults, including The Alchemist’s Portrait, The Sorcerer’s Letterbox, The Clone Conspiracy, The Emerald Curse, The Heretic’s Tomb, The Doomsday Mask, The Time Camera, The Sphere of Septimus, Flashback, Future Imperfect, Twisted Fate, Parallel Destiny, the Shadowzone series, and the Stone of the Seer series. I’m also the author of eight guides for writers, including The Time Traveler’s Guide, The Children’s Writer’s Guide, The Working Writer’s Guide, The Social Media Writer’s Guide, hundreds of articles, and many non-fiction books. I’m an instructor for adults with the University of Calgary and Mount Royal University, have served as the Writer-in-Residence with the Canadian Authors Association, am a member of the Calgary Association of Freelance Editors, and also offer a number of services for writers, including coaching, editing, consulting, and writing workshops, as well as copywriting services for the business community.    

Flashback was shortlisted for the Alberta Book Publishing Awards Book of the Year for Children and Young Adults in 2016.

Global Issues – Drones was a finalist for the IndieFab Book of the Year for juvenile nonfiction in 2014.
