Linda Reid is a physician author and a Clinical Assistant Professor of Pediatrics at the David Geffen School of Medicine, UCLA. After her stints as a radio announcer, "the Doc around the Rock", she has served as a medical correspondent for Eyewitness News at the CBS affiliate in Washington, DC, for CNN, Lorimar-Telepictures, and Lifetime Medical Television. She was the co-host of the NBC-TV series, Sex Drugs and Rock and Roll; and a staff writer for the TV series Family Medical Center. Dr. Reid's work has been published in the Washington Post, Baltimore Sun, Los Angeles Times, Tribune International, Woman's Day, Salon, and the Huffington Post. In addition to co-authoring the first Sammy Greene Thriller, "Dead Air" (winner of the 2010 Royal Palm Literary Award) with Dr. Deborah Shlian, Dr. Reid is the co-editor of the book, "Collaborations Across the Disciplines in Health Care", and the author of the scifi/ fantasy books "Where Angels Fear To Tread/Renegade Paladins" (winner of a 2010 Mensa Sharp Writ Book Award, and "Abyssal Redemption" as Yolanda YS Pascal. Linda worked as a coordinator for emergency preparedness as Director of the Klotz Student Health Center at Cal State Northridge--in Northridge, CA, site of the devastating 1994 earthquake. These experiences helped to bring a life-like picture of emergency prevention and crisis management procedures in Southern California. Also, working in hospitals in LA, she's dealt with celebrity patients--mirroring the experiences of Dr. Reed Wyndham and his colleagues in the upcoming exciting thriller "Devil Wind".
