I grew up in Maryland, in a suburb outside of Washington, DC, and have been creating poetry, songs, stories, and works of art since I was a child. At 19 I traveled with a gospel band for five years, singing at churches and auditoriums, and writing songs. Two of my original songs were published on an album of The Journeymen.
Influenced by any fantasy books I could get my hands on, I began writing several novels just for the joy of writing. Staying focused on just one book was difficult for me because I often dream whole novels in my sleep. But as the novels got larger, I realized I needed to put them out into the world and let others enjoy them too.
In my debut fantasy novel: The Secret In The Attic, two children, 10 and 12, discover a Door to the land of Evurmor where beings of ancient lore live and play, and evil schemes in the shadows. Evil creatures that cause distrust have been put under a spell so that only someone not born in Evurmor can see them. Knowing this, a secret band of knights works in desperation to protect the children, while an evil sorcerer plans how to kill the children in order to protect his plan to rule Evurmor.
There will be a series of five books about the enchanted land of Evurmor, and the second in the series, The Secret in the Gallery, will be available soon. I enjoy being part of many writers groups. I have published a sci-fi novel under a different pen name in order to keep my middle grade readers familiar with one author name. I have also written articles and columns for two company newsletters, poems and a short story for an anthology, and won first place in a Lyrics Contest. Currently I reside in Georgia, with my husband, two daughters, and an 18-year-old cat who apparently has magic of her own.
