I live in the Bay Area with my wife and children. I graduated from San Jose State University in 1986 with a B.A. in History, and San Jose Christian College with a degree in Bible and Theology. My first book came out in 2007, chronicling the history of Dublin, CA. Entitled, Dublin, it was released by Arcadia Press. In May 2009, my first novel, When the Sky Fell, was released by Silver Leaf Books. I have also published a number of short stories the last couple of years, including "Surf's Up," a story awarded "Best of Show" in the Residential Aliens 2007 flash fiction contest. My next novel, American Midnight, was released by Silver Leaf Books in 2009, and The Crystal Portal, was released by Splashdown Books in 2011.
Regarding the major influences that have affected my life when it comes to writing, I would have to say Star Trek, Star Wars, Lost in Space, The Twilight Zone, Babylon 5, Close Encounters of the Third Kind, Bladerunner, 2001: A Space Odyssey, Solylent Green, Forbidden Planet, War of the Worlds, When Worlds Collide, Planet of the Apes, and just about any other science fiction movie known to mankind. Ironically, I wasn't much of a reader growing up. But movies and television, that was the world I embraced in my growing years. The shows I watched captured my imagine as they tackled the proverbial, "What if?" question on a regular basis.
