I had my first book published this year: Forever Hellos, Hard Good-Byes. This non-fiction book shares the stories, advice, and humor--in their own words--of 34 children across the United States who face life-threatening illness. Janis Love, my co-author, and I wrote this book because there were no resources anywhere for kids who face life-threatening illness--no place for these kids to turn to to hear the voices of those who have gone before. Additionally, the book chapters are topical, with each chapter focusing on a different aspect of living life--making it more accessible reading for kids. We were pleasantly surprised to learn that parents, doctors, nurses, social workers, and teachers were also interested in hearing the voices of these children. I have a Masters of Fine Arts degree in creative writing from Arizona State University, where I also taught writing for several years. I founded Shadow Writer, Inc. in 1992, and have been a ghostwriter for both corporations and individuals. I love to write and am currently working on two novels and a feature film screenplay.
