Dr. MaryAnn Diorio is a widely published, award-winning author who writes riveting, compelling, and page-turning fiction that deals with the deepest issues of the human heart. She is the author of the popular trilogy, The Italian Chronicles, and of the award-winning novella, A Christmas Homecoming. MaryAnn has also authored six children's books. Her latest novel, In Black and White, a love story involving a white woman and a black man. Set in the 1950s, the novel deals with the topics of racism and prejudice. MaryAnn resides in New Jersey with her husband Dominic, a retired ER physician. They are the blessed parents of two amazing adult daughters, a fantastic son-in-law, and six ambunctious grandchilren. DR. MARYANN DIORIO is a wife, mother, grandmother, author, life coach, and Bible teacher.

Dr. Diorio has written several hundred articles, short stories, and poems which have appeared in more than one hundred national magazines, newspapers, and journals, including The Saturday Evening Post, Christian Life, Decision, Virtue, Christian Parenting Today, Moody Magazine, Sunday Digest, Standard, Power for Living, Pentecostal Evangel, American String Teacher, Human Events, The Atlantic City Press, L'Esprit Créateur, Zoomer & Co., and Junior Trails, among others. For eleven years, Dr. Diorio served as Editor-in-Chief of The Lampstand, a Christian regional magazine. She also served as publisher and editor of the bi-monthly magazine, The Daystar Discipler and the weekly online Daystar Devotional.

Dr. Diorio is the author of five books: Making Your Marriage Work, Selling Yourself on You: Discovering God's Will for Your Life, A Student's Guide to Nathaniel Hawthorne (Enslow, 2004), A Student's Guide to Herman Melville (Enslow, 2006)and A Student's Guide to Mark Twain (Enslow, 2007). She is also a contributor to six others books: Religious Writers Marketplace, My Turn to Care, The Young Generation Book of Short Stories, Rest Stops for Busy Moms, Rest Stops for Teachers, and The Heart of a Teacher. Dr. Diorio has also produced two cassette tapes on writing, Discovering God's Will for Your Writing and Commercial Writing: A Well-Kept Secret, as well as several teaching tapes on the Scriptures. Her area of special interest is writing fiction.

In 1990, Dr. Diorio won the $4000 Third Place Award in the Annual AMY Writing Awards Program for her article entitled "From Feminism to Freedom." Her short story entitled "The Birthmark" placed fifth out of 216 entries in the 1990 National Writers' Club Short Story Contest and ranked in the top 100 out of 1784 entries in the 1990 Writer's Digest Short Story Contest. In 1992, she was awarded the Second Place Prize in the Novel Category at the St. Davids Christian Writers' Conference. In 1994, she was awarded Honorable Mention for her radio script in the TAKE ONE Radio Theatre Contest. In 2006, she won third place in the General Fiction category of the annual Genesis contest, a novel writing contest sponsored by American Christian Fiction Writers.

Dr. Diorio has appeared on several radio and television talk shows, including the nation-wide LeSea Alive program hosted by the late Dr. Lester Sumrall. She has also been a guest speaker on the Christian Writers' Club Internet Chat and has served as a distinguished judge for the annual AMY Writing Awards Program. Dr. Diorio is listed in International Who's Who, Who's Who in the East, International Authors and Writers Who's Who, Dictionary of International Biography, The World Who's Who of Women, Who's Who in the World, International Who's Who of Professional and Business Women, The Nationwide Registry of Who's Who in Executives and Businesses, Who’s Who of American Women, and Who's Who in America.

A graduate of the University of Kansas where she earned her doctorate in French and Comparative Literature, Dr. Diorio has taught Romance Languages at the University of Kansas, at Cumberland County College in Vineland, New Jersey, at Camden County College in Blackwood, New Jersey, and at Rowan University in Glassboro, New Jersey. She has also taught an online writing course for Nottingham-Trent University in England. Dr. MaryAnn is a professional member of the Society of Children's Book Writers and Illustrators, a member of American Christian Fiction Writers, of Christian Writer's Fellowship International, and the Writers Information Network.

Dr. Diorio has served on the faculty of several writers' conferences, including the Philadelphia Writers' Conference, the Greater Philadelphia Christian Writers' Conference, the St. Davids Christian Writers' Conference, the Sandy Cove Christian Writers' Conference, and The New Jersey Society of Christian Writers Seminar.

Dr. Diorio resides in southern New Jersey, with her husband Dominic, a physician. They have two grown daughters and six grandchildren.
