Hi! I'm Deb Hockenberry. I have always wanted to write for children since I was a child myself! I've just had a picture book published and have been published several times on the internet. I currently am working on several things including a middle grade book, and a young adult book.

Information
I really don't know what got me into storytelling or writing. I remember telling the neighborhood children along with my siblings stories when I was a child.
I had been trying to get published for years. Then I read 'Harry Potter and The Chamber of Secrets'. I noticed how J.K. Rowling brought her characters to life through description. So, I studied her...not to plaigerize but just to learn. It was then I started getting published.
Accomplishments
I have taken two courses from the Institute of Children's Literature and am a member of the CBI Clubhouse, an ongoing, online course to keep up with the ever-changing world of children's literature. I've also won first honorable mention in the Jory Sherman Short Story Awards.
