I believe each one of us on this planet is a story teller. Some of us shy away from telling stories in an organized way. Others, like myself, are keen to reach their stories to a large audience. I am fascinated by the concept of "living long after I am gone" through my stories and poems. For example, Mohammed Rafi, the famous Indian singer passed away some years ago, but his memory will live forever. The same can be said of Elvis Presley. I want to write stuff that will remain part of human folklore, and thus continue to live on. I am a very sensitive person, who is offended by the widely held notion that humans are "owners" of this planet and can do as they please with the other occupants - the birds, animals, plants and insects. Some of my works reflect my pain. In this regard, I have great respect for Daniel Quinn who has written his masterpiece "Ishmael" for unmasking human greed so eloquently. I am a believer in sustainability and the theory that one should recycle, reuse, refuse, renew, and reduce in order to give the chance to succeeding generations to live like we did. The key test is: Have you left the planet greener than it was when you inherited it? Thanks to Mike Messineo for pointing me here. It sure feels great!
