There are treasures in darkness and riches in secret places. I grew up in Cameroon, Africa, at the heart of the equatorial forest in a small village known as Ikata. There, we lived outside the Conveniences of modern life. Each day, we strived for the best, but all we saw was pain, discomfort, and poverty. We lived in a two-room apartment house; we were twenty-four in number, and we struggled to make ends meet. My father was a prison warder, and he earned little from his hard job, and my mother was a farmer, and she equally earned little from her toils. It was in the midst of these circumstances that my passion and curiosity to know my place among the seven billion people in the world began. I believed I could change my destiny if I find my passion and purpose and acquire the knowledge to accomplish it. With the above resolve, I began my adventure for knowledge beyond the academic classroom. I made listening to foreign Media my hobby; writing and requesting for learning materials from over a hundred different personalities and organizations was equally part of my adventure. I also read widely; one thousand books from diverse backgrounds. Many correspondence courses and other Christian materials were useful tools for my development as well. The above efforts combined to get me to where I am today. Venturing outside the status quo in search of light has been my passion until date. I appreciate the classroom, the teacher, and the student educational concept. I have equally benefited from it, but I believe that limiting one's search for knowledge within this conventional environment is the greatest miss-known.  The quest for knowledge should take one beyond the classroom to the world, where every life's experience, service opportunity, etc., becomes a classroom. Out of the classroom in search of the light, which enlightens every man who comes into the world, is the foundation for whom I am today. My adventure and exposure are ongoing.
