Dorothy Krusky grew up in a large family so there were many adventures taken. These times shared with siblings were released through her writing after she raised her fown family. Her love for nature, animals, children and life itself have allowed her to explore in depth how the world lives. A simple write about a butterfly to a more serious write about life on the streets is the way the author's mind cirrculates. It seems there is always something to be written about. She has taken on many challenges in her life and has stated that the writing of "The Many Faces of War" - self - published in 2009 was a true spiritual challenge. She felt the need to write and expose the feeling of all facets of war through this book; along with the help of some very committed Canadian citizens. She is most thankful to see the war dead come to life in such a positive way. Yes, she dislikes war, afterall who wants to be in such a world? Dorothy's major influence was her parents, especially her Dad and all the stories he would share when family members came to visit. Margaret Atwood, a great Canadian author has been her mentor for many years. It was an honor to receive permission to use one of this influential authour's quotes for The Many Faces of War. She also credits Siscan Publications for believing in her writing, for their support and patience. The author is passionate about the health and welfare of animals, children, seniors, disabled and those who through no fault of their own have been aflicted by illness. This is clearly found in the writngs from "Life's Ride - A Journal of Poems."  published in 2007. Her perceptive eye take in everything from a trip on the bus to more important matters such as homelessness. Nothing escapes her as she gathers this information; allowing it to sit in the recesses of her mind. There is something to be said about someone who is a child at heart. The author definitely is a child at heart as she enjoys writing childrens short stories. The first book she self - published was "The Christmas Cat," a wonderful achievement. It was the beginning of her recognition to a writing career. This touching story of animals communicating allows one to see just how vivid the author's imagination can be.

2009 - The Many Faces of War - Military
A self-published book of short writings, photos and poems gathered together from Canadians coast to coast. They submitted their work to be placed between the covers of a book dedicated to the Canadian troops both past and present. Every troop from the Afghanistan war will be forever remembered as their names are placed in the back of the book. The author also seeks to donate two dollars for each book sold for the medical help of the troops once they return back to their families.

2007 - Life's Ride - A Journal of Poems - Poetry
Poetry written in a way so as to take the reader on a journey through the seasons,with nature. The author brings to life objects, animals, children and her journey over time. The unique addition is the photos that accompany a lot of the work. This self - published book is definitely a great way to get to know the author.

2006 - The Christmas Cat - Revised Edition - Children's Story
A wonderful book written for children during the Christmas holiday season. As the Writer's Digest states, "a great book for parents to read to their children around Christmas time," and they go on to further say, "the author has a way with descriptions - does a good job of painting pictures with words."

The story is about Crystal the elderly Persian cat sharing the upcoming arrival of the Christmas Cat to the scruffy puppy Pugs, who was a guest in the Randell family home. The surprise at the end is a nice twist of a happy ending.
