This book was written for a few reasons. The first and foremost being, the soldiers wanted to be heard. Secondly, there are many unsung heros across Canada. When I put out the request for photos, stories and articles for the book I was impressed to see the range of people who responded. Obviously, their beloved war heros gave them a nudge as well as an opportunity to see them not forgotten.

The Afghanistan War has been particularily hard on everyone as it seems to be going on for so long. Too many fine young men and women have died. I wanted the future generations to remember these fine soldiers so in the back of the book are the names of the troops who died serving overseas. Since the war is still going on we know there will be more casualties therefore there has been room alotted for names of troops (who we hope do not) die.

The Many Faces of War is a collection of my writings along with the works of others. Each poem tells a unique story, wether it be our historical past with the military or the more recent, each has a message. Also, the citizens of past wars and those of the new generation have a common bond. They both took time to send greetings and support to our fine men and women. These stories can be found in the book. It shows how much we care as citizens for the soldier and their familes.

I hope this book makes it to as many homes as possible for we must preserve our history. The soldiers have spoken, I did not give up despite the many issues along the way. May we NEVER forget.
