I started writing as soon as they taught me to hold a pencil. I began to tell stories before that. Neither my parents nor my teachers appreciated my ability to fabricate the truth to suit my own interpretation of life. As I grew up, I learned to use this ability to bring true stories to life, and I produced many plays and other articles for use within the local church. In 1997, I received a diagnosis of aggressive breast cancer which had already started to spread. During that time, I began to keep a scrappy sort of journal. Little did I know at the time that this would provide the basis for hundreds of published articles and eventually a book.

I won a scholarship to attend the Sandy Cove Christian Writers' Conference in America, and sold a car to get there. Seven years later, thanks to an incredible gift, I was able to attend the Florida Christian Writers' Conference, where the acquisition editor of Revell/Baker started the process that would lead to the publication of my book.

I love challenges, and I have completed NaNoWriMo on six occasions although I haven't found the time to edit any of the resulting novels for publication.

My biggest writing achievement is the publication of Strength Renewed, Meditations for Your Journey through Breast Cancer (Revell/Baker 2012). I have also had hundreds of articles published internationally.
