Elizabeth Melton Parsons is a freelance writer for a local newspaper and other publications, published author, award winning poet and artist. An English major, she was born in the state of Michigan and grew up dividing her time between Michigan and South Florida. As a child she loved the Everglades in South Florida and still misses the ocean. Elizabeth was born the 5th child of six, with four brothers and one sister. Her parents were hardworking farmers who instilled in her a love of the rural life and faith in God. Elizabeth's love of books began when she'd curl up in the barn loft on rainy days and read Nancy Drew Mysteries, Edgar Allen Poe, and just about anything else she could get her hands on. Her love of romance began after reading Jayne Eyre.  At the age of 12, she began to write her own poetry and short stories. Her poems have been published in different magazines around the country. Elizabeth now resides in the beautiful rural countryside of the midwest with her husband and children. Elizabeth loves writing romantic tales interwoven with intrigue, mystery and suspense. Being a member of various writing groups and workshops has helped to define her realistic and unique style that has come to be known and loved both nationally and internationally. Elizabeth's first  romantic suspense novel, Captive Fear was released in July, 2006.  Her love of poetry is still strong and her book of poetry Out of Darkness was published in May 2005 and is now being featured in college English Comp. classes. Elizabeth's newest poetry book, Soaring Dreams ~ Daunting Reality is a compilation of  the poems from her first two poetry books plus many others.
