Shawn Nacona Stroud is from Orlando, FL and now works as a graphic artist in Charlotte, NC. Shawn has been reading and writing since his childhood as well as painting commissioned artwork. Information
My major influences in my writing growing up were the confessional poets like Amy and Robert Lowell, Sylvia Plath, Anne Sexton, Sharon Olds, and Stan Rice just to name a few. I am also inspired by great artist's work, Monet, Van Gogh, Escher, Dali. I am also inspired by nature, the world around us and its unceasing movement, and the lives I observe around me each and every day.
Accomplishments
My poem "Mary" recently won 2nd place in the Crescent Moon Journal's summer contest and should be published sometime in August. I have had poems published in the Mississippi Crow Magazine, Here and Now, and the Loch Raven Review.
