I've been writing poetry ever since I could pick up a pencil and put words together.  My growing up years were filled with abuse, fear, and an unstable home environment.  Being able to express my emotions, thoughts, and opinions poetically was the release valve I needed to keep my psyche together.  Through the years, no mattter what life has dealt me, I can say God has been good to me, and he has given me the gift to see and express Beauty in my own unique way. My favorite poets are Longfellow, ee cummings, and Calvin Miller.  Miller is a rather obscure Christian author, but his poetry is full of beauty, mystery, and metaphor, and will take your breath away when you read it.
