Mr. Rayer is a retired Music Director from the Mayfield City Schools of Cleveland, Ohio. His interests include music composition and music performance, writing, golf, flight simulation and nature walks with his wife, Terri. He has studied music composition with Donald Erb, Bain Murray and Rudolph Bubalo. He is currently being tutored by Jeffrey Mumford in music composition.  He is a current member of the Cleveland Composers Guild and the International Writers Association (IWA). His 'Dance Suite' for Flute Trio is published by BRS Music, Inc. and will be performed live by the Flute Society of Cleveland on April 25th, 2010. He has had orchestral compositions performed by many local colleges and community orchestras and bands. He is currently working on book two of this series and expects to have it completed by next year (2010). He won second place in a Composer's Composition Contest for the Cleveland Rape Crisis Center and their 2010 theme 'Sing Out' writing both the lyrics and the music.

Member of the Cleveland Composer's Guild. Principle Trumpet Lorain Community Civic Orchestra. Principle Trumpet Broadale Brass. Member of the International Writer's Association. Placed second in a composition contest for a song for the CRCC (Cleveland Rape Crisis Center- 2010.)
