I am a former New Orleans prosecutor and a current appellate public defender. My novel, Gumbo Justice, features a prosecutor, and my experience at the D.A.'s Office is primarily what I drew upon for the novel. I am also a former CanCan girl, having worked my way through undergrad as a Drama major at the now defunct Can Can Cabaret on Bourbon Street in the Royal Sonesta Hotel. It's not as bad as it sounds- it was a fun family show with no nudity. The publication of Gumbo Justice by Oak Tree Press was set back a year because I was in a near fatal head-on collision with a drunk driver and was immobile for seven months.  Fortunately, my publisher was willing to wait, and Gumbo Justice was released in 2009.  the second in the series, Jambalaya Justice, was published July of 2011, and I am working on the third, Chocolate City Justice, which should be published by Oak Tree by the end of the year. My favorite writer of all time is Hemingway, although I have to include John Kennedy Toole and Tennessee Williams near the top of the list.
