I was born in Fort Smith, AR on August 19, 1966 to Johnny and Patricia Ballard. My mother passed away when I was ten years old. She was killed on Monterey HWY in San Jose by a drunk driver as she was walking home from the store. Even though I have had tragedy in my life, I still have held onto my humor. It gets me by when things are bad, and helps me through when life is sad (My own quote). My writing reflects a lot of what I have experienced in life, including my relationship with God (Yes I believe in Jesus and follow him the best I can), my family, and my children. My mother wrote many manuscripts and turned them in countless times. Her courage in the face of rejection was immense. I suppose I have gotten some of my talent from her, as she was an excellent writer. I remember some of her stories she used to read to me as a child.  She never acheived her goal of becoming a published writer.  I feel as if I would make her proud, knowing that I have achieved her dream. So my mother was a major influence on my love for reading and writing. It has been a lifelong love of mine. I also have been influenced by Stephen King, as I love horror stories, and most of all ghost stories. I believe ghosts exist and I believe demons exist. There are so many things about the paranormal we cannot even begin to understand. I seriously believe we are making great strides in that direction in this day and time.

I have achieved many awards for my poetry, and also rave reviews from my novel Dark House.
