They say that truth is stranger than fiction. Inspiration for my stories usually comes from historical events, especially those with tragic and far-reaching consequences. The golden age of airships has been one of those sources. The dreamers, the industry leaders, the politicians and the men who gave their lives testing the giants of the air appear in some of my stories in one form or another. The engineering and invention, the technical problems, the disasters and the mishaps that shaped the airship industry and then buried it have influenced plotlines. I've mined this rich history for ideas and combined them with my love of science fiction and fantasy in an attempt to create dreamlike worlds.
