I started writing on a whim.  My cousin wanted to write a book together.  I thought, well, it's something to do.  So I started the manuscript sending it to her every couple of months so she could add something to it.  Only I finished the manuscript on my own.  That work is still being reviewed.  But in the mean time, I've won a short story contest, plus received a contract on another work. A few years ago a friend let me borrow some of Lynn Kurland's books. Lynn Kurland is an awesome writer.  I devoured almost every novel she had written.  I was unable to put them down.  After I almost finished her series, (I still have one left, I can't bare for it to end!), I started looking for other "clean" romances to read, and to my surprise the books/authors were very limited.  I couldn't find one more regular romance novel that was "clean".  So that has become my goal.  I strive to offer clean romance in a "normal" world. Let's not forget, there are plenty of wonderful inspirational romance authors out there as well.  Francine Rivers, is one of my favorites, as is Liz Higgs, and others.  I'm currently working on publishing a series in this genre.  But for now, I hope to break into the secular field with clean romance.   Writing allows me to create an imaginary world.  A place of escape.  I like to use places I've been in my stories.  As well as use personality traits that I've seen in real people to create a more realistic story.
