I started writing on a whim.  My cousin wanted to write a book together.  I thought, well, it's something to do.  So I started the manuscript sending it to her every couple of months so she could add something to it.  Only I finished the manuscript on my own.  That work is still being reviewed.  But in the mean time, I've won a short story contest, plus received a contract on another work.
