I cut my teeth on science fiction, reading everything I could lay my hands on from writers like Andre Norton, Isaac Asimov, Jules Verne, Arthur Clark... From high school on, I delved into the fields of religion, religious philosophy, mysticism and anything remotely linked to spiritual growth and the search for enlightenment. When I got out of the U.S. Air Force I met a group of people who started an alternative community, complete with food co-op and alternative school, in the heart of Miami. I became a teacher with the New Community School, conducting a class called Introduction to the Search wherein we collectively explored a wide variety of esoteric arts and disciplines - ranging from meditation techniques to the different forms of yoga, I-Ching, Tarot, multi-level awareness, UFO's...anything anyone thought would help them find what they were looking for. I didn't start writing professionally until about 1986, working free-lance for Public Relations firms and local newspapers. Eventually I branched out into magazines and finally was asked to edit and write for "Ability" magazine, for "today's active disabled." All this eventually led to the writing of my first novel, "Passages." I now have two other novels in the works.

Approximately 95% of everything I've written has been accepted on first draft. This includes feature articles in Opera Monthly, Detective Dragnet and Ability magazine, of course, I was the editor there.
