I cut my teeth on science fiction, reading everything I could lay my hands on from writers like Andre Norton, Isaac Asimov, Jules Verne, Arthur Clark... From high school on, I delved into the fields of religion, religious philosophy, mysticism and anything remotely linked to spiritual growth and the search for enlightenment. When I got out of the U.S. Air Force I met a group of people who started an alternative community, complete with food co-op and alternative school, in the heart of Miami.
