I've always written.  I began in college, typing in sports scores as a part-time newspaper reporter.  I wrote for several years for the San Jose Mercury-News then got involved with non-profits, where I wrote grants, annual reports, brochures, fund-raising letters. After another stint back in journalism as a city editor for mid-sized dailies, I finally decided I needed to write..as in a book. The biggest motivation for me to write was that I read.  Always and forever, I read; fiction, non-fiction, biographies, bestsellers, mysteries, thrillers, spy stories, literature, books-by-the-pound. I want to tell stories about women.  Not women who do enormous things and not women who are evil, but every-day women who just go on.  They may be moms, they may be in careers, many times they're both, but they just cope.  They run into interesting men and it's always hard for them to trust.   I think that women are the original multi-taskers and their stories make them multi-layered and interesting. My first genre is mysteries; not cozies, or hard-boiled, or noir, just traditional.  The protagionist is SURPRISE a newspaper editor.  I enjoy these stories because they're a puzzle. Vampire romance...well these are just fun!  They're fun to write and I hope they're fun to read!  True fiction!
