I cut my teeth on Stephen King's work and sharpened them with Anne Rice's vampire chronicles. My work is dark and deeply disturbing. I flirt with the macabre, always pushing the boundries. People often ask me, "How could someone as sweet as your write such disturbing stories." I just shrug, grin, and say that maybe I'm not so sweet. I've been writing since high school, but became serious about my work in 2005 when I graduated from California State University, Chico with a BA in English and a minor in creative writing. With some phenominal instructors, I learned the difference between powerful and moving prose and the rest. While this has turned me into a book snob, it has also improved my writing. Since then, I've had over 20 short stories published and my novel, Sanitarium, was just released in March of 2011 by Brown Paper Publishing. My 2nd novel, Women Scorned, is slated to be released in November, 2011 by JournalStone.

My flash fiction story, One Night Stand, won first place in the fall category of the Seasons in the Abyss contest through Blood Bound Books. Sanitarium was my debut novel and will be followed closely by Women Scorned
