I have been interested in fantasy for many years now: Enid Blyton's "The Brownies" was the first book I ever read from cover to cover, and there started my love of all things silly but clever. I'd be lying if I didn't say the great J.K. hasn't had some influence, but long before her novels, I was enthralled by the adventures of "Artemis Fowl" by Eoin Colfer, and, of course, the great Philip Pullman's "Dark Materials" triliogy. I have just recently re-read "The Chronicles Of Narnia", as all people should whatever they are interested in, and recently I have found the brilliant David Burrows, and his epic "Prophecy Of The Kings" trilogy.
My own novel, inspired by many happy Christmas holidays, should appeal to all readers of fantasy, but is aimed loosely at young adult fantasy fans. This new telling of the Santa Claus legend allows for a more scientific understanding of the whole concept, while still retaining its roots in fantasy.

It is a complete retelling of the legend over a proposed five novels, involving many more facets than usually associated with it, and a new twist on its origin. There are many departments involved with the actual business of the big man in the red suit, and as such readers will be treated to a new concept and a new, much bigger world, and even though it is based around a popular legend of our time that occurs rarely in our calendar, the inference is subtle enough to be read all year round. That is certainly the intention for the rest of the series, with maybe the exception of the final novel, which will be immersed in the workings and surroundings of the legend.

Lee J H Fomes was educated at Amery Hill School and Alton Tertiary Collage, and has spent the last seventeen years as a professional musician in the British Army, where he gained his Advanced Certificate on the trombone, a diploma in Musical Theory and Orchestration, and an honours degree in Music and Social Science.
