Capturing the thrilling experiences of the big rig driver and putting them into words for little ones--That was the challenge. Husband and I write the Grandpa and the Truck series (two books already), based on his 30-year career, driving his 18-wheeler all across America. When reading children's stories to my grandkids, I just felt there was something missing.  They lacked that Aesop's Fable ingredient:  They didn't teach...they didn't provide life lessons. So, I determined to write my own. Grandpa and the Truck, Books 1 and 2, combine history, geography (the big rig goes all over), life lessons (don't blindly follow the leader), fun trucker terms, and maps (so little ones learn other-than-GPS knowledge of our land.) Kids love us, as do parents, teachers, reading specialists, and truckers. And we're making a considerable splash, as we bring these stories to children everywhere. My works have appeared in the Wall Street Journal, Scripps-Howard, World Health, Yahoo, Providence Journal, and CNN and NYTimes-acclaimed medical blog, kevinMD.com, among others.

OOIDA, the biggest international truckers' association named our Grandpa and the Truck books "Cool Gifts for Kids" in "Landline" magazine. Women in Trucking (WIT endorse our message, too, in that we stress equal job opportunities for men and women in that industry. Our Book 2, Story 2, "Girl Truckers" features two women who cracked the ceiling of the trucking industry, to become legends in their field.
