My debut novel, The Shelter at Papa's Farm, is about a family who survive in a bomb shelter for two years after the US is hit with nuclear weapons and what the survivors find, once they are able to leave the shelter.  Obviously, this is a work of fiction but the location of the shelter, the safe haven for the characters in the story, is dear to me.  I placed the fictitious shelter on our family farm, my safe haven from the loudness of life!!   When the family farm in New Hampshire was sold, I needed to find a way to say goodbye to it.  The Afterword in my book lists some of my memories of the farm which gave me a chance to say a final goodbye.  I am currently working on the sequel to The Shelter at Papa's Farm, a story that will bring you across the country, and back to New Hampshire where Alisha, the main character and narrator, fights for everyone's Constitutional Rights, freedoms, and liberties.
