My debut novel, The Shelter at Papa's Farm, is about a family who survive in a bomb shelter for two years after the US is hit with nuclear weapons and what the survivors find, once they are able to leave the shelter. Obviously, this is a work of fiction but the location of the shelter, the safe haven for the characters in the story, is dear to me.
