I'm a baby boomer, great grandfather, husband, gypsy, newspaperman. I love books and reading. I started writing in the fourth grade with a story that my pretty fourth grade teacher loved. Probably changed my life. I've been writing for more than 40 years, until the last few years science fiction, fantasy, horror, mystery, and sword and sorcery.                       I started writing in the field of adult romance/courtroom legal action about two years ago. Adult romance is adult fiction involving uncensored language, explicit sex and in general life the way it is lived. Generally it involves the death or failure of marriages, romances or love affairs, usually involving infidelity or betrayal on the part of women. These are love stories because if nobody loves anyone, there's no hurt and no story. Sometimes there are happy endings, sometimes not. Despite what might be the reaction of female readers, these stories generally involve strong female characters and these aren't simple stories. There are always two sides to any story. I've written short stories and  one short novel "ghosts and shadows" in this genre,  and I'm in the middle of a nearly million-word four volume epic of the law and broken hearts "when we were married". This novel focuses on the life of workaholic 40-ish prosecutor William Maitland with the Jacksonville, Florida State Attorney's Office. Maitland is a man who has lost his marriage, his wife and his children to his obsession with putting bad people behind bars and protecting the public. Debbie Maitland-Bascomb is the gorgeous 39-year-old UNF Professor wife who has never lacked for male attention throughout the 22 years of her relationship with and marraige to Maitland. She breaks his heart when she succumbs to the attentions of a similarly gorgeous 29-year-old male university colleague. Over the next months as Maitland tries desperately to hold onto his career and make a new life for himself, Debbie Maitland will find out that making a new life is harder than she ever thought it would be, and will learn that beauty is no shield against loneliness and pain. I've already built up an international readership and I've got enough reader response to know that the reason people keep reading my work is that I generate strong emotions toward the characters in the story. People love or hate the characters, sometimes both at the same time. And in the latest, people change their minds over time as the story progresses. That is my goal. I like strongly plotted novels and there's a lot of action in "marriage" - trials, murders, drug killings, mercy killing, killer cops, warring international criminal cartels, racial tension, unfaithful wives and husbands, identity crises in the 40s, divorces, love affairs - but the most important thing to me and readers is the emotional impact  on the characters involved.
