I have a PhD in History of Art from the University of Oporto. I am the author of seven books: Art and Literature in the Spanish Civil War, Blame it on to much freedom, The Tragedy of Fidel Castro, Devil’s Observations, Maria Pia: Queen and Woman, José de Guimarães (publish in China by the Today Art Museum), José de Guimarães: Public Art. My favourite writers are: Marcel Proust, Franz Kafka, Virginia Wolf, Pär Largerkvist, Mikhail Bulgakov, George Orwell, Aldous Huxley, Phillip Roth, Cormac MacCarthy, Flannery O’Connor, Paul Auster, Marguerite Yourcenar, Gunter Gräss, W. G. Sebald, Italo Calvino, Henrique Vila-Matas, Mario Vargas Llosa, Fialho de Almeida, Eça de Queirós, José Saramago, Lobo Antunes, Dulce Maria Cardoso e Mário de Carvalho. One book that he particularly likes is Erasmus’s In praise of Folly. Favourite movies are: Clockwork Orange, Apocalypse Now, Kagemusha, The Fly, Donnie Darko, and all Luis Buñuel, Marx Brothers and Charlie Chaplin films. Other interests are: travel, arts, photography, architecture, performance, theatre, politics, religion, history, ecology, biological agriculture, cooking, wine, alternative music, tennis, martial arts, cats and dogs.

The Tragedy of Fidel Castro was considered book of the year in Portugal in 2009 by the magazine Os meus Livros and the LA Splash Magazine posted it in their book gift guide 2013.
The literary agencies Nabu (Italy), Kontext (Scandinavia), Ilene Kreshka (Germany), AKF(Poland), Iris Literary (Greece), Nova Litera (Russia), Book Seventeen Agency (South Korea), The Book Publishers Association of Israel, Partha Malik (India) and AnatoliaLit (Turkey) are looking for a publisher.
