This novel was different! I feel this literally exercised my brain. It is a very smart read! The author is clearly brilliant, and very well educated and it shows in this satirical/ fictional spin of a confrontation between JFK and Castro. Now, having said that, one must understand these are just fictional names. I knew this book would be different when the Preface read “ Hence, Christ has nothing to do with Jesus Christ, the son of God” and “ God does not represent God, the creator of the world and men”
At times downright hysterical, the book offers the reader a clear departure from reality and really makes you think! I was incredibly intrigued by this fictional piece of literary art. What I particularly enjoyed was how Joao took his phenomenal imagination and ideas and intertwined it with factual history to really get the reader thinking. I do believe you have to read this book with an open mind and accept it for what it is, an impressive novel that is truly like no other you have read. It will challenge your thinking and I believe you will be pleasantly surprised! I hope you enjoy it as much as I did.
