I like to craft stories that contain thought-provoking plots, and characters with depth and complexity--particularly ones that challenge readers to survey their own values.I currently reside on a small tranquil lake in northern Illinois where I continue to write novels.

I knew from an early age that I wanted to write books when I retired. For years before retiring, I wrote down any random thought I had on what to write about. When it came time to start my first novel, I pulled out these hundreds of scraps of papers, sorted through them, put them in piles, and all of a sudden several stories emerged. That was my inspiration for my first five books.
In 2020, I wrote and released "How to Write, Publish, and Promote a Novel," a how-to book for new and aspiring writers, one that I wish I had had when I first began writing.
