While writing, and tapping away on an old '66 Imperial typewriter at night, Korban grew older and started to work during the day as a journalist - later becoming editor of the same local newspaper, and later still leaving news behind to be a Private Investigator.  All experiences and encounters were noted and stored, providing useful research for the ensuing stories.
