I began my writing career in 1970 as a cub newspaper reporter for a small now long defunct weekly published in Cortland New York. Six months after joining the staff, I was promoted to Features Editor - a post I held until I graduated from Ithaca College in 1971.  On and off, I spent most of the next 35 years as a technical writer for such firms as IBM and Bristol-Myers Squibb. I penned my first freelance article in 2006; an essay that appeared in Good Old Boat. Since then, my work has appeared in 18 nationally or regionally distributed magazines including Life in the Finger Lakes, BackHome, Living Aboard, Southwinds, The Dollar Stretcher and Upstate Gardeners' Journal. I also created Internet-based content for Demand Media Studios. Totalled up,I have over 1100 paid publishing credits. In 2012 my first book; Maple on Tap was published by ACRES USA. In February of 2013, my first novel Taking the Tracks became available as an ebook through Amazon. In November 2013, my second novel; Julie & Me was also published as an ebook  through Amazon. Both of my novels are loosely autobiographical in nature with plenty of humor thrown in as well. The prime influcencers in my freelance career are Eugene Burdick, Charles Dickens, Ayn Rand and mystery writer Jane Dentinger. I value the work of each of these authors for their mastery of the English language.  I write to inform, educate and entertain readers. My novels are not meant as self-aggrandizing statements; rather each was written with the hopes that every reader would relate the tales to events which happened in their own lives.
