I was born in Illinois. I earned a B.A. in Criminal Justice and began writing in my journal. I loved writing my thoughts and expressing myself on paper. My creative writing began to emerge in 2004. However, I did not take it seriously, because I thought it was more like a hobby than a call. I continued journaling and realized, I loved to write about children's issues.  Creative writing became a real passion that l learned to really enjoy.  I self-published my first children's book "Maurice's Big Day" in 2013.  Shortly after my second book "Why Me", third; "Who Is Going To Speak For Me", forth; "Loved By Two", and fifth; El Grande Mauricio (the first title in a Spanish version). I am actively involved in children organizations, helping in the community and always learning ways to make children smile. I enjoy shopping, babysitting and spending time with my family. I seek every opportunity to read to children and encourage literacy.
