Andrew Nyongesa is driven by relegation of religion in mainstream fiction. I was stunned to discover that most writers do not associate creative writing with divinity. I wanted to use the novel as a vehicle to bring the lost lamb back to the fold. secular, as it may look, a novel can impact positively on the character of the reader. The Water Cycle, for instance, was meant to drive the Christian message home to the African traditionalists on our continent.Rise of Rodedom is a prophecy about the Rise of Africa, which is only possible by uniting into one federal state. Its allegorical structure makes it more singular. Generally, Nyongesa's works of fiction depict the marginal group's determination to subvert the values of the dominant group.
