I have read poetry seriously for 40 years. I studied Modernism in Graduate School at Kent State. I have been writing and publishing for eight years. My biggest influences are Modernism and Surrealism. I have too many favorite writers to list, but they include Jim Harrison, Wendell Berry and Gary Snyder. Trying to make sense of Vietnam, academia, aging and love motivate my writing. I meditate regularly and experience writing as a continuation of meditation. I am a confirmed anarchist and a rabid minimalist. I live in a small, shabby apartment with a schizophrenic cat named Evan Williams. I love classical music, especially Mozart, and jazz and listen to both continuously. I have published in a number of journals and one anthology. My two books of poetry are Never Forgotten: Poems of a Lost War and Huck Finn Is Dead: Selected Poems. I plan to publish at least three more books in 2016.
