I have always had a keen interest in many periods of military history, from the ancient Romans and Greeks to the modern conflicts of the Twentieth Century. I began writing my first book, Barbarossa to Berlin, when I was in my early twenties as a purely personal project.  Over the years the project developed into a two volume history, which I was lucky enough to have published by Spellmount Publishing.  Following the publishing of Barbarossa to Berlin Volumes One and Two in 2003 and 2004 respectively, I went on to publish a chronology of the Revolutionary and Napoleonic Wars entitled The Empire of the French in 2006 and two volumes of a history of the Romans, The Rise of Romans (2008) and The Later Roman Republic (2008). The Battle of Königsberg marks a departure from my previously chronological style of writing to that of a narrative history. It is also my first self published book, being available through Kindle and other e-book readers and also as a paperback.
