My name is Peterson Ojieson, I am a husband, father and a Nigerian in my 40s. I have just authored a book titled 'The Irregular Migrant: A Story of Perils, Triumphs and Karma. The book is centred on my perilous journey through the deserts and seas of Africa in my quest for a better life in Europe. Fleeing poverty, hunger and strife, I had chosen to go in search of the proverbial greener pastures in Europe but lacked the requisites to realize my dreams legally, so I opted to do so by travelling across borders by road. My book talks about all the perils, such as near-death and actual death experiences I was faced with, in the course of this journey, and how I eventually made it into Europe after two years on the road. Upon entry into Europe, I soon realized the grass wasn't greener on the other side after all, so I had ended up mixing with the wrong crowd and got entangled in the criminal underworld of internet scams/fraud to make ends meet by stealing from innocent victims and reaping from where I hadn't sown. I had continued living off the sweats of other hard working people shamelessly until karma came visiting me and served me deservedly. The aim of my book is to tell my story as a way to teach and sensitize people on the risks of migrating the way I did and also to dissuade people from the lures of wanting to reap where they haven't sown by stealing from innocent people.
