I was a visual artist and professor before I retired. Over the last 5 years I wrote my memoir as well as 4 adventure books for middle graders about 3 appalachian mountain kids. Most recently, I have started writing poetry and have published 3 poetry books. Most of my motivation comes from my memories growing up as a poor country boy in the hills of Arkansas in the 1940s and 50s. I live with my wife and cat in Portland, Maine.

Awarded the Arkansas Traveler Award for special recognition for distinguished accomplishment by the Governor of Arkansas for my Memoir "The Boy On Shady Grove Road" a book about growing up there.
