I was born in Brooklyn and when I was a year old, I contracted polio. At the time, they didn't have any advance medications so surgery was the only option. I was brought up in a polio hospital called St. Charles Hospital, in Port Jefferson, NY. I was educated by nuns and even today, my eighth grade teacher lives on although she is one hundred years old now. She was always a doll. I find my favorite hobby is reading and listening to music. I don't like the current style of rap however. I have a pet dog that lives with me in the rectory. Her name is Natasha and she is part Shitzu and part Pekinese. She is a lot of fun and very faithful to me. She rides on long trips with me in my car and does not complain when I run into a store, as long as I bring her out a dog treat. The major influences in my life have been the nuns, the priests, my family and friends. I am one of twelve children and my parents died when I was young. We were six boys and I am the only one who is still alive. I have three sisters who are still alive and two who have died, one as an infant. I guess because I was brought up by nuns people figure I was a natural for the priesthood. But I didn't enter the seminary until later in life and as a priest, enjoyed a variety of educational and managerial positions. I like what I am doing now best.

I have written several books over the years. I have taught in seminaries, colleges and universities. I got my Ph.D. from St. Thomas University in Rome where I majored in the history of philosophy. I was also certified in pastoral counseling and sacred oratory, both subjects I taught at the college level. I love being a priest and am so grateful I can help people in their good times and bad.

I have written a new book entitled Walk a Mile in My Shoes: Gripping Real Life Stories and it can be viewed on www.greatunpublished.com. People who read it love it. At least that is what they tell me. I have a nephew, Michael O'Reilly by name who is autistic and who wrote a book of poems entitled love was all he said, growing up autistic. It also is published at www.greatunpublished.com. I am presently engaged in trying to promote my book and Michael's as best I can since I cannot afford too much professional help. I love to write and i love to answer email.
