The 48 years old James was born in the small Scottish town of Lanark, but has spent most of his working life in Aberdeen. He is married to Fiona, and together they have a 21 year old daughter Amy. Oh, and a dog called Lucy. James admits to being influenced by the work of Canadian poet and songwriter Leonard Cohen, and often cites the great man for creating his poetic condition.
