Information
The summer of 2007 while participating in the Northern Virginia Writing Project Summer Institute, I began telling the colorful stories of the heroes of New Orleans post Katrina. The sounds, sights, and smells of a recovering city permeates my prose and poetry. Teaching for over 30 years provides a humorous backdrop for my work. A great city made up of colorful story tellers encouraged me to find humor in the sacred roots of my culture.
