Born near Monmouth Beach NJ, live in same house in MB with wifeJoan. three   children    traveled  with  greatest    musicians, my father, Andre Benoist foremost piano accompanist of time. from age 3 to 4 lived in Italy. Two terms in Lycee Carnot, Paris, as a teen. Returned to MB  in 1929. Grad LBHS 1936, went to Columbia College, electrical engineering, changed to architecture in 3rd year. Summer job at Radar Laboratories, Sandy Hook  NJ. Drafted went to Infantry, signal company, direction finding. No equipment, so, sent to Harvard. Civil engineering ASTP. Then back to fort Monmouth, Radio. OCS, sent to Point Loma, Ca for Navy radar, the back to NJ to teach radar and on a seatrain to Marseilles ,France. Back, discharged, back to Architecture, Graduated, Exam, First license in NY. then NJ.Opened Architectural/Engineering firm and practiced for 40 years, mostly large buildings and projects.Closed firm to work closer to MB. Now retired. Painting and writing main stuff,  Had a ballet company, now  work with local Opera company, and M B historical society on the side. Published works on several subjects. Hobby ...solving problems.
