Let's see:  I began writing as a hobby about five years ago - mostly short stories that I would share with friends.   I was a bit surprised by their overwhelming enthusiasm and began to think I may be on to something.  I knew that I wanted to write stories that would inspire others - nothing preachy or condemning - just uplifting and empowering.  I had flirted with the idea of penning a novel years before but the task seemed too monstrous.  So, I embarked upon several online writing classes and writing software and started my first rough draft.  I joined a few online writing groups and got some very constructive feedback and tips.  About six months later, I had finished my first novel, The Preacher's Secret, which was published by PublishAmerica in June 2007.  Since that time, I have penned my second novel, Down At The Altar, which was released November 2008 also by PublishAmerica.  I have found writing to be very therapeutic because it always warm my heart to know that something I wrote inspired someone else (I'm sure that's the sentiment of most authors).  However, I do have a day job and I work from home as a contractor in the field of medical transcription.  My flexible schedule allows me to write more often than I could in a conventional work setting.  I live in Memphis, TN, and have two rambunctious teenagers and an adorable poodle.  A major influence in my writing career is Mr. Tyler Perry.  I am constantly awed by his ingenious way of combining comedy and inspiration to deliver a powerful yet entertaining message which is a delicate tightrope to master.  His stories continue to feed my drive to create my own!
