My second book is about a boy who has Asperger's Syndrome and is bullied to the point to where he shoots up his school. I have divided the excerpts from it into three parts: Before, during and after the shooting.

After studying English Literature to degree level I regrettably veered from an original career aspiration in journalism to end up working in the world of finance. As both a challenge and a hobby I began writing novels in 2003 and have published 3 to date.

Information
I have a number of diverse influences on my writing. In the first instance I am inspired by the works of Charles Dickens and quite often create exaggerated caricature characters in tribute, although have not quite gone with his wonderful tradition of poetic but bizarre names (excluding Elsie Roundbottom in You Are Here). In modern times I have learned a lot from the humour and construction of Ben Elton's books whilst gaining confidence in providing realistic and gritty commentaries in synch with the Lad Lit generation (Nick Hornby / Colin Butts). I am currently working on a number of projects, with one in particular owing more to Charles Dickens than any other writer. Being a father I am also trying my hand at Children's books (aged 8 - 10) - I have illustrated and written a book called Cowboys Down The Pit but just for family and friends (my illustrations would not hold up to a wider professional critique).
