I have a number of diverse influences on my writing. In the first instance I am inspired by the works of Charles Dickens and quite often create exaggerated caricature characters in tribute, although have not quite gone with his wonderful tradition of poetic but bizarre names (excluding Elsie Roundbottom in You Are Here).
