Information
Colin R. Parsons was born on November 8th 1960 in the Rhondda Valley. This is in South Wales in the UK. From the age of ten he was fascinated by reading the book, 'The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe by C. S. Lewis. The idea of walking through a piece of furnature and ending up in another world thrilled him. From school he spent a few years dabbling in short stories. A website opened up called Crystal Serenades Publications. CSP, published twenty six of Colin's prose, on their website. They brought out an anthology of horror called: When Darkness Comes in which Colin had one story inside, 'Always just behind.' They set up a book launch and signing in a haunted castle in south west Wales called,'Craig-Y-Nos Castle.' Colin enjoyed signing copies so much that he vowed there and then, that's what he wanted to do... to write novels. Sadly, the website eventually closed down! Fortunately at this point Colin and his wife Janice were called into a parent teachers meeting. His son Ryan, which so named because the 'R' in the middle of Colin's name is Ryan, was falling behind in English. Ryan's english teacher, who had read all of Colin's short stories said, 'Why not write a book on Dragon's or Wizard's.' He took her advice and wrote his first novel Wizards' Kingdom. This in turn was followed by Wizards' Kingdom...The Obelisk of Ashmar book 2. A little later, Wizards' Kingdom... Jarrak's Darkness book 3, the final part of the adventure. The books became really popular in bookstores and so Colin did more and more signings. He still lives in Wales with his wife and two sons.
Colin hopes one day to get a big publishing deal and work at his craft full time. He is constantly sending his manuscript to agents and publishers. He is available for school talks and workshops in the UK. He also does libraries, writing circles and institutes.
