The author was born of two hard working farm folk and raised on the farm. Went to Bible college for a couple of years. Continued to study God's Word through out his life and is active in the local church.  He was the last of nine children - the first to be born in a hospital. (That’s right, he was the baby of the family! You know what that means!) His dad started to buy and trade farms (after he had slaved for many years and saved the families money) and started to move up in the world - he became a land owner and worked for himself. The author was ignorant of all this struggle - he was just taken along for the ride. As a foot note, his dad was of the old school, when it came to raising a family. He was a strict disciplinarian - like his ancestors before him (The author felt like he spent more time on the ground than he did standing up.) But as the Bible says (and he believes it) “Spare the rod and spoil the child”. One of his favorite scriptures:“O God You have taught me from my youth; and to this day I declare Your wondrous works. Now also when I am old and gray headed, O God, do not forsake me, until I declare Your strength to this generation, Your power to everyone who is to come.” Psalm 71:17 & 18 (NKJV)
